It’s (Black) Gold In ‘Dar Hills

I watched this on CNN last night, and for those urbanites disgusted with their job prospects in the inner-cities, may want head to the Great Plains. Apparently, Stanley, North Dakota, “is teeming with activity — all thanks to rich oil deposits sitting deep below the surface.” Now what this means for the current price oil is up for speculation, but in the short-term, with all the activity flurrying around the town due to the Black Gold rush, it appears that the town’s infrastructure is not on par with the influx of newcomers taking up residence. And that’s a good problem to have according to the town’s mayor.

So screw paying for that $500,000 mortgage for your Harlem apartment, when you just got laid-off. Get yourself a $70,000 house and a good-paying job in a burgeoning oil town like Stanley.
